Dear colleagues,
Insurance company general accounts hold more than $6 trillion of invested assets in the U.S. and over $23 trillion globally. The persistent low interest rate environment has made it difficult for insurers to meet their investment income goals for several years. As a result, insurers have invested in an ever-wider array of asset classes in search of increased yield and diversification.
However, asset management in this large and growing institutional market is complicated by the need to thoroughly understand issues that are unique to insurers. Knowledge of accounting, capital requirements and regulations, among others, are essential to manage insurance assets effectively. We believe that all of the contributors meet these criteria.
This journal is designed specifically for insurance investment professionals. Our goal is to deliver relevant articles and thought pieces on a variety of timely topics. It is important to note that none of the contributors have paid a fee to be included in this publication. You are welcome to forward it freely – all the content has been approved for distribution.
Thank you for taking time to have a look – we welcome your thoughts and suggestions.
